The first McDonald’s Drive-Thru was started in Sierra Vista, AZ in 1975 to better serve Army soldiers who were prevented from leaving their cars in their olive-drab fatigues. McDonald’s certainly provided a Golden Moment to them! And shortly thereafter, McDonald’s locations in Oklahoma and Georgia followed suit to serve the solders in those areas.
